SPIRITUAL ADVISER
Sanatana Babaji, or Babaji as he is affectionately called, is the spiritual and metaphysical adviser to Yoga with Perumal. In 1999, Babaji foretold the path of Perumal Koshy
in his story My Path Into Yoga. A twenty year liaisons continued between the two.
Babaji has practiced Bhakti yoga since receiving the Hare Krishna mantra from Allen Ginsberg in 1968. He is 75 years of age and has been chanting daily since 1972. Babaji practiced both hatha and raja yoga since 1968, his practice of Pranayama and Laya Yoga began in 1972. He is well read on the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, Siva Samhita, Dhammapada, Guru Gita, and Tao Te Ching. He studied the teachings of Swami Yogananda, Swami Yukteswar, Swami Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekananda, Muktananda, Shree Bhagwan Rajneesh, Swami Satchidananda Saraswati and more.
There has been personal meetings with the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso,, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, Jiddhu Krishnamurti, Satya Sai Baba, Swami muktananda, Swami Sivaya Subramuniya, Baba Richard Ram Das Alpert, Swami Chidvilasananda, Swami Nityananda, Swami Hari Dasa Baba, Baba Bhagavan Dasa, Baba Nataraja, Ammaji, Yogi Bhajan, Yogi Ramayana, Sri Sri Mata Anandamritamayi Devi, and other spiritual aspirants the likes of Terry Cole Whitaker, Indra Devi and Tim Leary have occurred over a course of a lifetime. Currently he is an active council member in the Gaudiya Vedanta Society, as well as a member of the international society of Krishna consciousness.
The proper use of Japa mala, Pranayama, and Raja Yoga, as well as Laya is taught by him. Babaji provides lectures on the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras of Pantajali. Psychology, Anatomy, Physiology, Philosophy and Religion, were studied in colleges and the University of California.
His quest took him to the Amarnath Cave in Kashmir where he continued on pilgrimage to Mathura and Vrindavan, India to the Samadhi of his Guru and on to Bangalore where he attended the festival for Sathya Sai Baba’s 60th birthday. When Sai Baba left for his home to Whitefield, Babaji continued to there to attended Christmas service in the home of Satya Sai Baba. His quest then led him on visit to the Samadhi of Shankaracharya. He continued south to Mahabalipuram and eventually to the basilica of St. Thomas in Santhome in the city of Chennai (Madras), India.
Prior to his spiritual path Babaji taught digital communications equipment maintenance and missile guidance to employees of the United States Department of Defense. In his years he has been married and raised 3 children. After passing through the doors of experience and knowledge he wishes to humbly serve you.
